The soul of this creation

To create this Ouija board, I drew inspiration from the design already available in the shop featuring Lilith’s sigil. Over the years, many of you have asked me to replace the sigil with different symbols because you didn’t necessarily feel a connection to Lilith, so I figured it was time to offer you a design in the same style, but without the sigil. However, not wanting to simply take an existing design and change only the central symbol, I wanted to alter most of the details while keeping the style.

So I drew angles inspired by Gothic architecture, replaced the sigil with a pentagram, modified the roses, and added a small moth. To add a darker touch, I chose to include two ravens that I had recently drawn for the “Forest Whispers” tarot spread board. The raven is a powerful symbol of the link between life and death.

The pentagram is a five-pointed star enclosed in a circle. The points of the pentagram symbolize the spirit and the elements (water, earth, air, fire), connected by the greater whole symbolized by the circle. When the pentagram is pointing upward, it is considered that the spirit is symbolically turned toward the sky, and thus, by extension, toward spirituality. A highly valued symbol within neo-paganism, it is generally regarded as protective.

The heptagram, or elven star, is a powerful magical symbol found in many belief systems. In alchemy, it refers to the seven planets, while in certain esoteric traditions, it is said to have the power to ward off evil.

Spiritualism with a Ouija board

Contrary to what superstition tells us, the ouija board is not a tool that necessarily attracts evil spirits. It's simply a very practical tool for practising spiritualism. It's up to each individual to use it safely, by learning enough about the practice and always having material on hand to protect oneself in the event of a bad encounter. Spiritualism is a spiritually enriching activity, but there are many dangers involved, which are not linked to the ouija board itself, but to communication with spirits. That's why it's advisable to be well-informed on the subject, and to practice with serious, experienced people.
