The soul of this creation

The triquetra, also sometimes called the trinity knot, is a symbol that has traveled through the ages and civilizations. It was used in particular by the Celts, the Vikings, and then by the Christians. Its symbolism is rich and has different interpretations. Generally, the triquetra symbolizes eternity, thanks to its knot with no beginning and no end, but it is also often attributed with different trinities such as unity, balance, and harmony, or even the cycles of life, death, and rebirth. It is also sometimes associated with the natural elements of water, earth, and air, while others see it as a symbol of the interconnection between body, mind, and soul.

Within Christianity, it was of course linked to the Holy Trinity, while neo-pagans link him to the triple goddess.

For me, it was the interconnection between body, mind, and soul that inspired me to create this design. And I chose to incorporate this beautiful symbol into a Gothic aesthetic to emphasize its spiritual aspect, evoking immortality. I also added a few ivy leaves intertwining around the triquetra, reminiscent of the old stones of our churches, and accentuating the symbolism of eternity associated with this plant.
